Why is my game footage audio so quiet in my recording?

I got Dxtory recently, and my footage looks great. At least, until I convert and edit it, Then it looks like garbage. I know the file will be shrunk and it obviously won't be the 100% quality but it look muddled and grimy. One key thing I can't figure out at all is why when my footage is converted into an editable format, my voice sounds just fine but the sound of the game is almost silent. My AVI files sound just fine, but the WMVs are so quiet.

I'm using NCH's VideoPad to edit, and Prism to convert.

On a side note, if anyone knows about a cheap, good editing program, please tell me. I hate NCH.

I used Dxtory's built in AVIMux to kinda merge the audios into one. I tried messing around with handbrake and compressing the video, but it didn't work with Dxtory videos. I can edit them now without the audio changing at all.

Quality isn't 100% but I'd say it's at about 85%. Good enough for the time being.

You need to separate the audio streams so you can control the volume independently, then mix them into one stream when done. I wouldn't use WMV if I could help it. Rather stick to avi or mp4.

I use Bandicam to record - it encodes the files for me so there's no need to convert them afterwards. If I really need to edit them then I use Bandicut to cut out bits or Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere to edit if I need heavier editing. This way I can keep the original quality as much as possible.
