Just got the micro usb port replaced
Android version 4.0.4
So ive tried everything except factory reset
Soft rest different outlets and cables and adapters but this phone keeps turning on everytime i plug it into an outlet. I need it to be off while charging to recalibrate the battery. And if it helps this phone isn't rooted. Thank you for your time and help.

Try to remember that have you recently downloaded any app after that you are experiencing this problem? Many apps trigger automatic phone restart which appears to be suspicious when you notice it. If you have recently downloaded any such app, uninstall it then see whether or not it happens again. As far as factory resent is concerned, keep it as the last choice.

Your phone probably isn't turning on. When a phone is turned off and you plug in the charger, you get a charging animation. You're phone is not on though.

It may be that it was never turned off? You have to press and hold the power key until the Power Off option displays on the screen and you swipe it over or down
