Fishing license/I.D questions?

So its early spring here in MN and in about a month or so Its going to be warm enough to fish. Problem is im going to turn 21 in June. If i purchased a fishing license now will I face consequences when I turn 21 and my drivers license expired? Oh and my drivers license isnt up to date because I also moved and when I do get my new drivers license its going to be different from the fishing license. I wouldnt want my stuff to get taken away.

    You must show a driver's license or state issued ID in order to purchase a fishing license in Minnesota. It is proof of MN residency since a resident license is cheaper than a non-resident license. You can't fish with a driver's license any more than you can drive with a fishing license. It should not be a problem.

    I have never been asked to show a drivers license while being checked by the game warden when fishing. Even if they did ask to see your license it would be to prove you are the person who bought the fishing license (photo id) they don't care if the drivers license is expired. You can board an airplane and fly in the US with and exprired dirvers license as you ID. (My wiife has done it even told them it was expired - it wasn't an issue) .

    All the game warden wants to know is that you paid for a license to fish. Get your fishing license and go fishing - don't worry about it unless you get caught driving with an expired driving license - that is a whole different kettle of fish - pun intended.

    A fishing license has ABSOLUTELY nothing at all to do with a drivers license. A fishing license is required to fish. A drivers license is required to drive. One has nothing to do with the other.

    You will need a valid state ID/license to get a fishing license. So convert your license to MN then get your fishing license and there will be no problem.
