Why did my uncle get so mad at me ? Help please.?
Hello,
Im 14, currently in high school. 2 days ago, we had our uncle for a dinner and he upset my entire family. Let me begin by saying he is very cynical all the time. In school that day, we where discussing body organs and we also talked about kidneys. Now I happen to know, there are also kidney beans.
So I asked my dad why are our kidneys named after beans. My uncle, who was particurarly irritated that night, smashed his napkins on the plate and said " And that's your american education." He got up and left for the kitchen and left my mom and dad a bit sad. I even remember my mom crying that night.
Did I do something wrong ? Or is it not my fault ? I was sincerely asking a question, witch is apparently why he got so mad at me. My mom and dad are also a bit weird since then.

No, you did nothing wrong. Don't ever be afraid to ask a question, even if others might consider it dumb. The only way to learn is to ask questions.
As for your uncle, please understand that not all adults act maturely at all times. Some people are angry at the world because they are disappointed in themselves. Some are angry because they are depressed. Some are angry because they have personal problems. Some are angry because they have a mental illness.
Don't be discouraged. Be nice to your uncle, even if he is not nice to you. You will be a better person for it. And keep learning and asking questions!

With my brain I might help with that question.... Nothing you said would of triggered a bad responce of anyone right? Well maybe if we dig deeper there might be some small but emotional problems with aither him with kidneys or America? So all I know here is your uncle had a bad day right? And basically its everyday. But that stress he passes on to you and your family. Now maybe he doesn't like being in America at all because of some emotional or physical issue? Maybe he just is a grumpy little thing but a good question like that doesn't deserve. A: no answer and B: your uncle spazing out on it! Also there could be some current tantroms between him and your family. Or he could have kidney issues which worry him and when you asked the holy question which made me smile, he had a rage and left all due to a couple of issues. But there could be several things going on that is leading him to this stresfull life and he needs people to shout at to feel better? Even though its wrong to do so, people do it anyway -_-. Or mabe (this is cool and worrying) kidney, beans or anything that question had, contains a word whic activates his bad side after going to a show of hypnosis! Yep but your uncle needs to give you an apology. Now be happy and make sure you don't stop asking questions because you come up with cool questions :D!!! Hope I helped!!!

You did absolutely nothing wrong.
Your uncle has some type of issue; he seems very angry about something silly. Perhaps your mother and father are tired of his actions, especially when it's directed towards their own child.
There is probably more to this story. For example, maybe he has a long history of offending your parents, and they've decided enough is enough and he'll no longer be invited to anything even if he's part of the family. They might also have seemed sad because he ruined a perfectly good evening.

He might of thought it was something rude, which to be honest, it does sound a bit funny.... but yh u should speak to ur parents or phone ur uncle and say sorry :/ u never know ... something might be happening that u dunno about like a member of ur family is ill and hes a bit stressed thas why u should ask ur mum or dad.
