What are the differences between a mazurka and a half flip?
They look very similar based on some videos I have seen, only they seem to switch right to left and left to right. Here is what I think I have figured out. Will someone please check me and make any corrections? (all counter-clockwise rotation)
Mazurka--start on a right back outside edge
pick in the left toe
rotate 1/2 turn to forward
bunny hop with right toe pick
finish on left outside forward edge
Half flip--do a left outside three-turn
(thus starting on left back inside edge)
pick in the right toe
rotate 1/2 turn to forward
bunny hop with left toe pick
finish on right inside edge

What??
A mazurka is 1/2 rotation taking off from any backward edge using toe pick. You rotate forward but while rotating you are crossing the opposite leg used for picking in the front or the back.
On a half flip you must take off form a back inside edge (doesn't matter if it's from a 3 turn or mohawk) it is also a 1/2 rotation jump but the legs are not crossing.
Both jumps do land on the toe then push to the other foot for the exiting glide.

I've never seen a half-flip done the way you describe. A half flip is simply a half version of a proper flip. You land forwards and turn out with a three turn to a landing position. No bunny hop.
A mazurka involves a scissor kick as you jump. It's a b*tch of a decorative jump to get right.
Stop trying to teach yourself by watching videos. It'll only teach you bad habits, as evidenced by your strange description of a half-flip. Which, by the way, can also be entered from a mohawk.
