how do i move Outlook 2013 desktop alert?
is there a way to change where the Outlook 2013 desktop alert shows up?
right now when an email arrives, the Desktop alert shows up on the top right of the monitor.....this covers up the Close and Minimize buttons on my Windows 8.
looks like my only option is a basic checkmark that turns it alerts on or off.
my old Outlook 2003 had the desktop alert show up on the bottom right of the screen. it was a much better place.

I'm still several Windows releases behind and don't use Outlook 2013, but from what I can find, Outlook 2013 uses Windows 8's integrated notification system for its alerts. This means that some alert settings will be found in the PC Settings app under Notifications, rather than Outlook's own Options screen.
You're not limited to choosing on or off. Within PC Settings, you can select how long the alerts (called "toast notifications") appear, which apps can utilize them, as well as set temporary holds on alerts.
Unfortunately, I've not found any method to tweak which screen corner the notification appears. It seems the only way to move it would be to configure your Windows settings to a right-to-left language such as Arabic or Hebrew, in which case the toast notifications will be in the upper left corner.

Yes. You absolutely can modify where the Desktop Alert window pops up in Outlook 2013!
Here’s the steps to move the icon:
1. Open Outlook 2013
2. Click on File in the top left.
3. Click on Options
4. Click on the tab called Mail
5. Scroll down to the Message Arrival section
6. Click the Desktop Alert Settings button
7. Click the Preview button
8. At this point, a preview notification should appear on the screen; Drag the notification to wherever you would like the notification to pop-up from now on.
9. Click OK on the Desktop Alert Settings Window.
10. Click OK on the Options window.
Hope this helps others.
