"50 Shades of Grace": Worst devotional title ever?

I seriously saw a book by this title in the inspirational section at WalMart! What on earth was the author thinking? Does she not know what 50 Shades of Grey is about? Yeah, it's a clever title, but isn't this a little over the top? Or am I just overreacting?

LOL I think it just maybe the worst devotional title ever. Christians often borrow (steal) ideas from pop culture an example Christian rock :-P

Actually, it is exceptionally demonstrative of exactly what religion is all about: money. Evidently, devotional literature does not sell as well as pornographic. So, the authors (not the brightest tools in the shad, I have to admit) decided to sell their souls for a few extra coins by putting religious books side by side with " 50 shades of Grey" in hopes that the title will bring more money. Graceless exercise.

You're not overreacting at all! That is disgusting! It's probably just a way to catch peoples' eye, but honestly? That book needs to be given a different title. I'm on your side!

I think it'd be an awesome parody of devotional books.

But if the author is trying to write a sincere devotional, I bet it's gut-wrenchingly awful.

Cheesy, but evidently effective marketing. Package something boring and pretentious with an allusion to some totally unrelated pop sensation. Cha-ching.
