Andrology and urology is the same department ?

It is not the same but they are related in the areas they work in. And andrology deals with the male only and their reproductive issues. The second deals with disease in men or women.

What is Andrology?

Andrology is the study of male fertility and laboratory aspects of infertility diagnosis and treatments.

What is Urology?

Urology is a surgical specialty which deals with diseases of the urinary/reproductive tracts in men and with urinary disease in women.

Although they are surgeons, only 15-20% of patients referred to us by General Practitioners actually require surgery. So, if you are referred to the department, this does not mean you will automatically be advised to have an operation.
