I'm not sure what she expects me to do...help?

Yesterday a girl from my school walked up to me and said "I hear you write stories, please write something about me."

I wasn't sure what she meant and asked her "Write what?"

To which she replied "The truth," and floated off.

I'm not sure what to do. What would you write about if you were me?

Her name is Magdalena and she is quite quirky and very interesting. At first sight you might think she was a quiet person, an introvert maybe, but she is actually quite open and fun.

She is the type of person you'll never understand (she's unpredictable) and probably wouldn't want to.

I think she is the type of person who would ask someone if she is beautiful, not for the answer, but for the reaction of the person.

Anyway I'm not asking for anyone to write this for me. I'm just looking for suggestions and also to see if anyone else understands what she wants me to write about.

Thanks in advance.

To be honest I think you already have- the way which you described her would probably be all she wanted. As writers essentially have the job of noticing things and understanding people I can understand why she might want you to write about her. Most likely she's hoping that you, supposedly unlike everybody else, will be entirely honest, and so maybe she can actually understand who she is and what people think of her. She's probably just curious, because she knows that you write about about people so you must notice things and think that you understand them. If you do it, just be honest, just look at her and write what you see, just think of her as a character that you want to portray and can do so bluntly because you don't have to safe anyone's feelings. In other words, tell her what you think of her, in whatever way you want I suppose. Maybe she won't like it but from what you've said so far it's nothing horrible, so as long as it's honest she should like it, and if not at least it will be better writing.

I think she just wants to know what you think about her. Maybe she likes you. I would take part of what you said here...

"Her name is Magdalena and she is quite quirky and very interesting. At first sight you might think she was a quiet person, an introvert maybe, but she is actually quite open and fun.

...and rewrite it in a way that's more fluid and poetic. You'll think of something.

    Good luck.

I'm not exactly sure what she wants either. Does she want to know what you think about her, or does she want to have something to share with others as a story about her? Does she want a story with a plot, or more of an essay or poem or something that muses on her?

I think she was a little too vague for you to know where to begin just yet. I think you need to ask her to be more specific about what she wants before you begin writing. As someone who has written a lot in the past, I know that it's not just as easy as, "Write something."

    Good luck with this!

It looks to me like you are on a roll. You've described her fairly well in your question. Just say nice things. People who ask you to be critical rarely want you to actually do so.

    I wish you well.
