Mister E - A "pox" is a pus-filled bump on the skin. There are several different diseases caused by a virus or other organism. Chickenpox and smallpox are caused by completely different viruses. Smallpox, which can produce poxes all over the body, has been totally eliminated on earth as a result of worldwide vaccinations. It is deadly. Chickenpox, mainly a disease of children, but also occurring in adults, appears with clusters of pox in different body locations at different times. While rarely deadly, it often is mild, but very contagious.

Smallpox can kill 30% of its victims where there is rarely a death from chickenpox.
Not much of a comparison between the two.
