Which comics should I pick up ?

I'd recommend checking out Morpheus (a.k.a. the Sandman). It's done by Neil Gaiman and is beautifully written and illustrated. You should start with Volume 1, Preludes and Nocturnes, and go from there. Your local library may have a free copy or even the whole series if you're lucky.

Oh yeah, if you like horror I'd check out Alan Moore's run on Swamp Thing from the 80's. Good stuff. There's a good chance you'll find a few volumes of this at a well-stocked library.

If you want to do some more Joker stuff I'd also add the first few volumes of the Batman Chronicles for some classic Joker madness/goodness. I seriously doubt you'll find this at your local library, though but it is cheap and well worth the price.

Well what you have read so far are good choices, on a side note if you want more batman, i recommend the latest new 52 : batman: the court of owls. But anyway you could try some green lantern preferably starting with secret origin and rebirth. Nightwing and Deathstroke are also options to choose. But you could try the latest New 52 justice league which is quite good, plus if you like a character in particular you could try out there solo series.
