What is the best way to align headlights?
the passenger side looks perfect
the driver side seems to shoot off to the left lane.
ive tried standing in front and eyeballing it to see if its straight + level...
ive tried pointing it at the wall to see if it lines up...
both ways make it seem straight.
what am i missing?
am i reduced to change the bulb at night and drive around til it seems right?
its an 06 Outback....so theres a fragile springy paperclip type thing that holds the Bulb in place...i dont want to keep messing with it til i break it.
thanks.
thanks Mr. Gangnam and Dizel....
clearly what i was missing was....a distance issue!
it seems obvious now.
the Wall i referred to in my question was my Garage wall, so it was wayyy to close.

The first response that you got was close but not close enough: Park your car about 20 yards away from the brick wall, then with your headlights ON at night time adjust both lights so that you can see the 3rd line of the brick row, the rule of thumb is that the right side light must be little higher maybe one or two bricks because of the pedestrians walking on the side of the road (just in the case). Remember brick wall.

park car away 15 feet from a white wall in low light and adjust them and if you have factory service Manuel it will tell you exact alignment for it
