Is it okay to refer an asker to another category?

I've seen two questions tonight in Gender Studies that weren't getting any answers, and I thought they could do better in other categories. I answered what I could, and suggested they try a different category for more answers. I've done this quite frequently. Is it wrong?

Oh, and I'm not talking about being rude to someone by saying "This isn't singles & dating" or some such. They were legitimate questions that weren't getting any answers because they weren't really in the right category.

you must make an attempt to answer the question asked, then you may add that you might trying asking this in such and such for better answers..I leave a link when I do that except on my phone cuz I am too old to figure out how lol.

while you're purely attempting to help, technically offering such an answer IS a contravention for not answering the question. sure, that's a stupid subject for somebody to waste time reporting, yet there you bypass. Your ultimate wager could be to the two genuinely answer the question, and likewise element out that interior the destiny, such questions could get a greater effective reaction in _____ classification, or to easily message the guy to enable them to comprehend.
