Hi Robert,
as I am aware there is no simple YES/NO answer to your question.
The best I can do is to direct you to the FAA's CHD protocol.
Read the 4 parts. It should be simpler then. Good luck.

One of my pilot friends got back into his flying career after a heart attack. He had to do multiple tests, doctor reports, and jump through others hoops to get his medical back. There are services out there that help you deal with the FAA and I strongly recommend them. Going at the paperwork yourself is difficult. Left Seat and Virtual Flight Surgeons come to mind. They specialize in helping pilots with complicated medical issues. I think AOPA has a service too. Their fee and the expenses of all the tests, etc. are high. Success will depend on your particular case but it is doable.
Make sure you get your medical certification issues taken care of BEFORE sinking any money into flight training. Check the links below for services that can help. A basic consultation is relatively low cost.
Good luck!

For a Class III the Regional Flight Surgeon can issues your waiver, for more you need to meet the cardiac board.
Asking for medical advice here is about as helpful as going to the local bar...
