Fresh produce in our grocery store aisles are very short this year!?

The shelves in the stores are definitely short on stock! Does anyone want to hazzard a guess as to why this is happening in America, The Bread Basket of the World?

    plenty of produce here,...but its high priced,...............FUEL ( for growing & harvesting & transporting)......SHORTAGE due to weather ( local fruit highest ive ever seen )

    We had serious drought in California. California grows 50 percent of the produce used in the United States. I didn't really notice things being short on stock but they certainly have increased in price.
