panicking!! - weird bleeding small pimple thing on breast?
my friend is having a small panic attack and so i'd like to calm her down. i'm no doctor but i figured maybe someone here would know what's going on.
she has this pimple looking lump on the under side of her right breast. it's been there for maybe a week or two. she figured it was a pimple and tried to pop it last week. after, it swelled up a little bit and the top become a little purpl-y like it was bruised, which is normal.
however - tonight it starting bleeding. it popped as a normal pimple would, except it's just blood- no pus. the tip of the pimple is still a little open and moist, but it's all purpl-y and red, as if blood is right under the surface. it's about the size of the tip of a pinky. it's not hurting her at all, just a little sore to the touch. it bled a little, enough to bleed under her breast onto her skin on her stomach and a some more on a kleenex. it stopped bleeding now, but she's freaking out and she doesn't know if it's normal and okay to have this happen or if it's something serious and/or dangerous. jic - she's twenty years old. does anyone know what could be going on??

Not a doctor, but i am an rn. So what im telling you.is just my knowledge. It sounds like a small cyst. You can get thise easy and they generally go away after a while.
First. Dont mash it anymore.
If the bleeding starts again...put a band-aid on it. Leave it alone. Give it about 3 more days. I repeat...leave it alone! I know its tempting to want to mash it but you a. Slowing down healing and b. Putting yourslef at risk for infection.
After 3 days the swelling SHOULD be gone down or it should be gone almost completely. If it hasnt you can go to your family doctor. No need for er or dermatologist. A gen physician should be able to tell you more.
But tell your friend it is absolutely nothing to.be worried about. :)

I sincerely doubt this is breast cancer, dear. If only getting rid of breast cancer were as easy as popping a pimple. What we have here, at least to my thinking (haven't seen it or treated you...) is that you have a pimple, probably a big one. It got a bit infected, hence the pus. My advice is to put a bit of neosporin or triple antibiotic cream on it every 4-6 hours for a day or two and it should be fine. If it isn't, THEN maybe someone needs to check it out. John Jones, M.D.

go to a dermatologist or a normal doctor get it checked out or you risk infection
