No. Police officers who shoot and kill someone is not punished in anyway, whether or not the criminal used to be armed, unarmed, or not even committing a crime on the time. Law enforcement officials have the obligation to defend public safety and the proper to move dwelling at night time without being shot by way of some thug.

No... Your question is very ambiguous and would completely depend on the circumstances. There's no black-and-white answer to this. For example, a police who shoots someone unarmed because he swears at him - yeah, that police should be charged with murder. On the other hand, an unarmed man who tries to choke a police to death and is shot - that police shouldn't be charged with murder.

No of course not. A Police Officer doesn't shoot somebody without good reason. I would hate to be in the position of having to make a split second decision like they have to.

Let's imagine that you are a police officer. You have a duty to arrest someone. You have a firearm that you are trained to use, and you are allowed to use to protect your life or the life of another. The person whom you seek to arrest makes a motion or displays a weapon of does some other thing, that in a split second makes you believe that they are going to KILL YOU. What do YOU do?
Would you rather die, or face the fact that you might have made a mistake later? You answer that one.

The fact that someone, with hindsight, turns out to be 'unarmed' is irrelevant. How do you determine 'unarmed'?
It is the belief of the threat posed at the time which includes actions, words, threats, intelligence, items possessed and the manner they are used.

Yes...............and then be reduced to absolute incompetence and entrenchment in a bravado maverick organistation that is used to getting away with murder.
Table leg in brown paper, stockwell etc...
I have had military say the police are ill trained and deficient in character to bear arms.
