Can someone please help? I have writers block!?

When I have writer's block, I like to learn new words to write with.

I also like to zoom in on an object and describe it really thoroughly as the start of my piece, usually making it a little ambiguous so my readers don't know the object I'm describing until later. It works really well for horror stories, for example:

"It kept rolling and rolling, coated and pooled in crimson. It seemed to roll for miles, but as I observed I realised it was only a few centimetres on the damp wooden floors of the gym. Its eyes stared at me blankly; The head of a girl attending her first Junior prom."

hmm you can play out the book iny your head and start from wherever you imagination begins or you can star with the students preparing and on their way in . btw if its a mystery you are going to want to make the janitor look realllyyyy innocent. OH! and did u intend the pun with janitor and dirty work hahah

Start it as the prom starts and the janitor is mentally preparing himself
