What are some back to school clothing essentials?

Here's the answer I posted to a similar question. I think it could apply to anyone who needs the basic essentials.

For school, I recommend

4-5 solid colored tanks/camis for layering

1-2 patterned tanks

2-3 cardigans (neutral colors)

4-5 pairs of jeans

2-3 pairs of shorts (1 denim, 1 twill, and 1 any kind you want)

1-2 button-up shirts (plaid, striped, etc.)

1-2 hoodies

Any number of graphic/band tees for lazy days that can be paired with jeans

If you're girly, I would throw in

3-4 skirts (floral, lace, ruffles, etc.)

1-2 dresses

For shoes and accessories,

1 pair of good sneakers, essential for gym and lounging (I recommend Converse or Vans)

1 pair of flats

1 pair of good winter boots

1 good belt

Any amount of jewelry you think is necessary (I personally don't wear any.)

1 good bag you can use for school (I like crossbody bags, but a good backpack always works!)

Also, I'm planning on starting up an online store for used clothes at cheap prices. Well, how much clothes do you have already? I need to know your style for what clothing pieces you like so I can't say where. I'll tell you the amount needed. You need: 2 - 4 camis. 3 - 5 t-shirts. 2 - 4 long sleeves / sweaters. 3 - 5 jeans. 1 - 2 sweatpants / leggings. 1 - 3 skirts. 2 - 3 jackets / cardigans. 1 - 2 tennis shoes. 1 - 2 converse / vans. 1 - 2 boots. 1 - 2 sandals / flats. 1 - 4 necklaces / bracelets. 1 - 3 earrings. Now, my suggestions for stores is just the teen clothing stores, A & F, Forever 21, H & M, Aeropostale, and just stores like that. And, you can go to Kohls, Target, and these kind of stores. They don't have that bad clothes, it may sound like eww, but still. They have nice clothes.

Well, where to get these items depends on where you like to shop and what you're are willing to spend. The amounts depend on how much you plan to wear the items and the quality of the clothes, so I'll share my supply list. You might not need some of this stuff, because you might already have it or dont need it

*boots- 3,4,or 5 pairs(for the winter)

*flip flops- 3 or 4 maybe 5

*sneakers- 2( an athletic pair and a casual pair ex: converse)

*flats- 2 or 3 they are so comfy, I like Toms

*sandals- 4 or 5 maybe 3 for dressier outfits

*sweaters 3 or 4

*a big winter jacket like a northface i have a fuzzy one so warm

*hoodies- 3 at the most

*jackets- 1 or 2

*peacoats- 1 or 2

*a trench coat- if your school allows them( mine doesnt ): )

*t shirts- 8 is enough but you can never have too many

*long sleeved tees- 6, 7, or 8

*dress shirts( if you wear them) 2 or 3

*blouses- 5 or 6

*dressy shirts- 4 or 5

*dresses- 5 is good, I dont wear dresses so I dont buy them(maxi, long, mini, strapless,a-line)

*skirts- 4 or 5 I dont wear them either(long, mini,pencil,a-line)

*jeans- I usually keep 3 skinny, 2 flare, 3 bootcut you can have them in different patterns and colors

*capris- I keep usually 2

*dressy pants- 2

pants- (besides jeans)

*rainboots- 1 or 2

*a rain coat

*tank tops and camis- I always wear a cami or a tank top under my shirts so i keep four or five in different colors for both

*socks-If you play sports then I would buy 6 at least( ankle, knee-high, footies)

*belts-2 or 3

*shorts- at least 2 athletic ones and 2 or 3 casual wear ones

*leggings- if you wear them get a few in different colors

*I dont wear jewlery so i dont reaaly know what youll need but keep several necklaces, earings, bracelets, headbands

*purses- get good qulaity ones so you'll only need one, two, or three for the whole year: Vera Bradley, Coach, Dooney & Bourke, Fossil, Juicy Couture

Or if you want to switch them out to match your outfits then you can find them in practically any store: dillards, Macy's, TJMaxx, Saks, anywhere really.(hobos, crossbodies, totes,handbags, clutches)

Plus you'll need bras and underwear, you might need: sweatpants, yoga pants, track pants, and clothes for sports

Places you can get this stuff- A&F, Hollister, Ralph Lauren, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Juicy Couture, Rue 21, Forever 21, Tommy Hilfiger, Charlotte Russe, Justice, Gap, Victoria's Secret, American Eagle, Belk, Delias, New York & Company, TJMaxx, Top Shop-online, Rack Room, Finish Line, Nike Factory Store, Coach Factory Store, and that's all I can think of.

Try forever 21

Shirts - 4 or 5 graphic tees, a polo and one nice shirt

Underwear- at least 1 for every day. so AT LEAST 7.

Coats - I would do one nice one, and a cute hoody

Jeans- 4 or 5

Shoes- tennis shoes, a pair of nice flats

Long dresses make me gag. Very ancient-librarian-lady-trying-to-be-fash... Stick to short skirts- or occasionally a knee-length one if its cute

I love minuscule dresses and the real way i correct it being brief is leggings and shaded tights. Not the methods with holes however the ones that virtually look like leggings but are obviously tights due to material.
