Cross country question?

How fast will the average freshman be over a 5k? If i ran an 18 minute 5k and 5:30 mile, would i be one of the fastest?

    For a boy, especially a freshmen, that's basically good. Not great or excellent , but good. I mean you definitely wouldn't be one of the fastest . Like the one said above me you'll be in the packed but not in the lead.

    Then again that's only the pace you would be using for practice, For a real meet you're pace would be a little faster than that so your time would be at least 16-17:30 min. mark. How about aiming for lower times at practice then during a meet you'll have a spectacular time and maybe even be in the lead.

    I disagree, I think 18:00, especially for a freshman is really good. You will be very competitive, but you certainly wouldn't be the best. However, 18 is really good, and you have plenty of time to improve that time. 18:00 is good enough to maybe even score points for your team.

    A 5:30 mile is not a competitive time in track. However, if you can do that during cross country, thats great.

    hah those are extremely good! and that i actually hadn't heard a lot of those earlier--you're in all possibility from a various area of the country than i'm b/c I felt like i might heard alllmost each and every severe college XC quote around. i like 'em nevertheless. the only humorous one I ought to upload is "go u . s . runners do it interior the woods."

    That is a decent time, and you will be in the pack, not in the lead or last.
