Try to Convince me to like harry potter books?

You've missed the whole point. Harry is a reluctant hero. He has had an awful life with his muggle family but he's just a little boy when the series starts. I don't know why you feel the need to be so harsh about these books. They are well written, interesting, have terrific characters and prove that good wins in the end. The books also demonstrate true friendship, especially between a boy and a girl....no romance. Refreshing. My kids read these books, but so did I and a lot of my adult friends. We were really caught up in them.

I think you're just trying to be a jerk. Go ahead, we'll enjoy the books, you can just be a sour puss.

I think the books are a great idea-

It is well written and imaginitive and is fun to read for children and adults. It mixes emotion with action to create a perfect story with many aspects and sides to it. The writing makes it dramatic and makes you feel as if you are there sometimes.

However Harry as the WIZARD I dislike. He never seems to appreciate Ron, and only seems to appreciate Hermione. I think I stopped thinking he was such a good wizard when Ron went home in the Deathly Hallows. He doesn't seem to wonder that Ron might worry about his family who had last been seen under attack from Death Eaters and that as Ron would be hunted by now it is unlikely that they would not be attacked again etc; And how he gets away with being a) selfish b) not thinkign about other people's feelingd and c) pretty dumb.

If you're reluctant to like the series, then no one can truly make you like them.

Addressing the plot hole you've pointed out, correct me if I'm wrong, but don't CPS need proof before claiming custody? Anyway, Dumbledore would've hocus-pocused Harry into returning anyway.

I don't recall professors ever freaking out over Harry's answers, it's always the same, a student does well, professors encourage. His peers might fawn over him because he is the-boy-who-keeps-on-living.

The I DON'T KNOW part is simple, in the book, he's a teenage growing up, if you're faced with stupid questions like should I dump her?! and you're a teenage guy...would you be able to confidently give advice or face life-threatening situation?

If you don't like Harry Potter, suit yourself, it's your own opinion, though I suggest you read the series before judging to harshly.
