which final fantasy game is better: one or two?

2 is a better game overall. The first one didn't really have a story (4 guys (you choose their classes, such as warrior, red mage, white mage, black mage, thief) but they have no personalities or anything trying to save the world, that was pretty much it) the second one actually had a narrative and characters. It's, overall, a much more complete game, and far more Final Fantasy-like than the first game. 3 was even better with the introduction of jobs. But 4 and 6 are, far and away the best games in the series. I keep hoping they'll bring them out on iOS and actually fix the super-broken virtual controls on the other ones. But it's square enix, and they suck, so they probably never will

FF1's a much more entertaining game simply because it's fairly playable (especially since they fixed the targeting in the remakes-- no more wasted attacks on already killed monsters). FF2 is a great case study -- it provides the basis for the job systems that are so great in 5 and tactics, but it's very poorly implimented. In order to boost stats, you need to actually USE said stat (casting black magic improves your combat spells, attacking with a physical weapon boosts strength, and so on). It sounds good in theory, but it's just not well implimented, leaving you with rather underpowered characters unless you're willing to spend time chucking fireballs and hitting yourself with swords to boost your skills and especially HP levels (guess how you grow HP? Yep, you have to get hurt). Cool idea, not so well executed. Makes it a VERY grindy game, even by JRPG standards. It's too bad, too, cause the game DOES have a cool storyline for such an old game.

Final fantasy 1. The main characters are the warriors of light. Game was better personally than final fantasy 2. But its your choice.

gonna put it as basic as i can because its still your oppinion. final fantasy 1 is faerly easy to play, and has not a decent story, but its a good opener to get into the gameplay and style of ff.final fantasy 2 has a good story but its very hard to play. also at certain points in the game, its quit a drag to keep playing in the 2, still your opinion
