My well pump shuts off erratically and sometimes won't come back on? Might you know why?
Changes we made that "Might" be at fault. (?)
1. We just replaced our water pressure tank with a smaller one because the larger one failed and we couldn't afford the big one.
2. We installed two sediment filters down line from the pressure tank.
What I have tried so far:
1. Taking out the filters doesn't help.
2. Installed a new pressure switch.
3. Cleaning out the pressure switch didn't help.
4. Checked for bladder failure.
Cut-in/out pressure on both tank and switch is 30-50.
Most of the time it runs fine.
Just not when I'm in the shower shampooing my hair. LOL
It fails at least once a day.
There is a holding tank between well and second pump and all valves are "ball".

Are you sure the AC supply to the unit is okay? If it is, it could be a connection somewhere between the pressure switch and the pump. It's not too likely the pump itself is the problem because it runs, but it could be.

Look for dirt in the small 1/8 line between pressure switch and pump, and pump housing body.
Your in and out pressures should be alright but your well feed lines may be constricted by sulphur, iron or whatever it is in your area.
Likewise, have you serviced the injector lately? On a 2 line system, with pump in house and 2 line to pump foot valve, the injector is often suspect.

if it is a deep submersible pump, and not a jet pump, there should be a control box mounted somewhere near the pressure switch. here is a link to testing proceedure for the control box
