i need some help pairing flavours?

Question

for a family get together i'm going to make a dessert. I make this mean chocolate cinnamon cake, but i want to take it to the next level and make chocolate cinnamon cupcakes. i know that i want to top it with a chocolate cinnamon buttercream, but i just don't know what filling to use inside. i don't want to keep it cinnamon, i want a change of flavour,  but i don't know what pairs well with cinnamon and chocolate. should i use a simple chocolate ganache? or a hazelnut cream? maybe a mint chocolate pudding? what do you guys think? what goes good with cinnamon and chocolate?

from personal experiences i love the way hazelnut cream tastes with cinnamon and chocolate and im pretty sure you will also
heres why: chocolate ganache is too rich against the cinnamon and it is not too good
and a mint doesnt go to well either
a hazelnut cream will balance out the flavors

I agree that hazel nut goes with both cinnamon and chocolate.  Coffee also goes really well with both of them. You could make a coffee cream.  Oranges also taste good with chocolate and cinnamon.

Hazelnut sounds good, but the only way to be sure is to try it. But, if you are going to experiment you should put your experiment through a trial run and tasting before making it for the family get together..

I totally agree with Joy, the hazelnut filling should be delicious.  I also agree that you should do a trial run if your changing the cake to a layer cake with frosting and filling.  The cake sounds pretty awesome as is.
