clothes dryer question?

I assume a regular electric clothes dryer intakes air from its surroundings, drys the clothes with it, and blows it out the exhaust, is this correct?

here's the situation, I'm staying at my brothers house, and I noticed every towel I grabbed, has a slight foul odor on them, like a hint of catbox. well I inspected the laundry room and by the time I was half threw the door, I was overwhelmed by catbox odor, and realized they keep the catbox, right next to the dryer, and they don't scoop it, they just change it once a month (if that). now.. to me, this is just a matter of common sense, I wouldn't keep the catbox there, id keep it near a toilet to flush the stinkies... I mentioned it to him and his girlfriend... both of them disagreed with me, said they couldn't smell anything on the towels, and blamed it on not using dryer sheets, and called me crazy. Well now I am frustrated, because I have laundry to do, and I don't want to smell even the slightest bit bad... guess I will have to move that stinking catbox myself.

so am I right? Is the dryer using catbox fumes to dry their clothing?

If I wasn't right here in this situation, I'd laugh about it.
