will these two kitties ever stop the catfight?

so, i rescued a stray female tabby/bombay kitten four years ago. her name is kit kat and she's been with us ever since. recently i found a beautiful Burmese cat with brilliant blue eyes, he seems to be about a year old and i've named him symon. now, kit kat is extremely displeased with Symon's arrival, to the point she'll hiss and attack me if i even get close to her after petting him. now , i'm just wondering, is there any hope that kit kat will warm to symon? i dont care to the point that they become best friends and they cant do anything apart, just enough so that she doesn't feel the need to kill whatever smells like him?
