inexplicable problem with my digital camera,?

my digital camera is doing something really weird.

I'll turn it on, the green light will flash a few times, it'll tell me that the date and time needs to reset,

so i enter the date and time, and then the lens extends, the light flashes red and the camera just shuts off, with the lens still extended and everything.

the batteries are new, they're not dead or dying. what could be causing this and what could i do to fix it??

thanks.

更新:

i forgot to say that the camera is a kodak easy share dx4530 and 5.0 mega pixles

buy a new camera, this camera is past its worth to fix it.

a new camera is about 100 dollar and its better then the kodak one

if you spend around 300-400 dollars you can get the best compact camera's on the market.

Seven years ago when that camera was made, it was not unusual for people to be using thirty year old film cameras. Now it's unusual to still be using a seven year old digital camera. It could probably be fixed, although the money might be better spent on a new camera. It may not be very complicated, but repairs on digital cameras are often disproportionately expensive. I suspect it could be an inevitable problem with digital cameras that there is a little battery built in that powers some memory functions like the date that can no longer hold a charge long enough to do anything. This is supposed to get its recharge from the easy to remove and charge batteries that you put in, but they are not that battery, so you have to pay a shop more than the camera is worth to replace it if there even is a compatible replacement.

I think there is problem in the hardware. So you should take it to the repair shop. Sorry, I know this is not the best solution and does not deserve best answer.
