    1.) Yes. During β-decay, one mole of electron is released. Hence, the particle has one more proton and one less electron, making the particle an positively charged ion.

    2.) No. The electron emitted comes from the breakdown of one mole of neutron into ONE MOLE OF PROTON and ONE MOLE OF ELECTRON.

    3.) There are many possibilities. The electron may be absorbed to excite other atoms or bombard another atom or may ionise the atmosphere around it ....
