another cut thumb attempting to open a tin of corned beef why does it come in such awkward shaped tins?

Get the ring pull tins I have a ring pull opener

much easier as it can pull the ring pull at the same time as pressing on the tin which is difficult to do without. Try lakeland and kitchen gadgety places. Then you needn't bother with the key tins.

I don't know why they come is such awkward shaped tins, but I wish they would put them in normal cans, maybe with a ring pull. I have lost count of the number of times I have cut my fingers (usually thumb!) on them!

Dont corned beef tins usually have those wee keys to open them but if they break it can be difficult,you should contact them and tell them you are fed up with cut thumbs,maybe they will change their tins,make them safer or maybe even send you a thousand tins as compensation lol
