About the sound of June?

I feel confused about the pronunciation of June. I looked up the dictionary and found it not the same as the rule of pronunciation "u-e" [ju]. Is there anyone who can tell me if they both get the same sound while we are talking?

Normally an "e" on the end of a word that has only one other vowel would make that vowel long -- like, bake, tale all come to mind. In this case, a long "u" would sound something like this: eee-oo. But that is not how June is pronounced; it actually rhymes with moon and spoon.
