Best neighborhoods to live in the Ft Lauderdale area?
I'm looking to relocate to the Ft Laud/MIA area. I'll probably pick up a job in a restaurant until i can find something better, but i'm moving out there by myself (27yr female) and i don't want to end up in a dangerous neighborhood. What neighborhoods are safe and what neighborhoods should i stay away from?

The Galt Mile is wonderful but also quite expensive. Very nice is the area in downtown Ft Lauderdale, for instance in the Nu River building, walking distance from Las Olas. Very safe too. Other good buildings: The Watergarden, Las Olas Riverhouse. Stay away from anything that is above 3rd Ave in downtown Ft lauderdale, there´s the Jail and Courthouse there and usually lots of bums. I also would stay away from the area around the Home Depot on Sunrise. If you go near the beach all neighborhoods are nice and safe. And around I95 and around Dixie usually not so safe. Good luck!

Well i agree with the close to the downtown area, but also there are nice cities like 10 min away from downtown like Davie and Weston. there is Sawgrass mall there huge mall and other place. JUST DO NOT MOVE TO MIAMI, it is extremely dangerous and insecure, very bad security and people. Fort Lauderdale is very safe and nice.
