Rarotonga Island in the Pacific - what is there to do there...other than swim & drink?

It's been 7 years since I've been there, but I don't imagine it's changed much. Cook Islands are very laid back. Checking out the different beaches and snorkeling are pretty much your average day.

We stayed at the Rarotongan Beach Resort and there was always something going on. They had a night snorkeling trip that was really good. Creepy, but good. We saw octopus, and lion fish. The choir performed every Sunday, and they were amazing. Different nights had different entertainment.

There are a few tours you can do. Captain Tama's Lagoon cruise was a fun day. You snorkel in the lagoon, and feed the fish. On the Island they serve lunch, and have/had a sarong tying demonstration that was pretty funny.

There are some different hikes you can go on. One is the cross Island trek. You can get amazing views from the top.

There is also a cultural centre, and some local craft markets etc.

There's also 4x4 or quad tours.
