he was completely against industrialization. That is what his plays are about in a way if you delve deep into them. He was part of the Romantic era and many of the Romantic artist this is what they were trying to get across about how industrialization was a bad idea and it would destroy the world.

Well considering Shakespeare was a great poet, playwright, and writer you could say that he believed in literature or poetry or something.
I don't know too much about Shakespeare so I'm sorry if this doesn't help you out much.
