Combined Technology Bullets?
Just wondering if anyone has been reloading these in 30-06,300 WSM or .243. I know they are Nosler and I'm thinking they are Accu-Bond equivalent but I was just curious if the Moly coating is going to really effect pressures on my reloads. I've used the Accu-Bonds with good success but the CTs seem to be cheaper most of the time for some reason. I don't mind shooting the Sierras I have now, but the CTs have always interested me. So, anyone with experience using them in reloads let me know your feelings.

I am a long time competition shooter, long time reloader and reloading instructor.
Moly coating is totally useless unless only moly coated bullets are exclusively used in the rifle. After a few hundred rounds are fired, and only special moly friendly solvents are used to clean the rifle - only then do you see any improvement. Send one non-moly round the barrel and you need to begin all over again.
Personally - I have not seen an improvement in anyone's shooting scores. However, moly bullets have one saving grace - if the round is mistreated - you can tell visually. This is in itself worth the cost just to be able to tell if your bullets have been in your shooting bag and roughed up after days of hunting.
Moly coating will never, ever, change your load pressure. Shooting a bullet of the same weight and basic design - but from a different company will.
Moly also provides a visual way to separate your ammo from say a long range load and a medium range load. Handy for varmint shooters when a long range load will blow a fur aminal in half when used too close.
Moly bullets also look very nice. If you take pride in your workmanship and produce clean looking ammo - especially on new nickle brass - moly bullets add a nice professional touch.
As to moly being an improvement. It must be to some people - but - so far as I can tell from 20 years of NRA highpower rifle competition - it's not worth the additional $$ for 200, 300 and 600 yard open sight competition. For the guys shooting 600 yards with scoped rifles - maybe - I have been using them for long range 223/5.56mm loads but only because they are easier to find than the non-moly where I live in Alaska. And they look nice. I use them for a visual distinction.
Hope this helps.
