Bought a refurb'd Mac for good price but can't download?

It asks for administrative password for some downloads and I don't have that. How do I find out what it is or reset it? Thanks.

you would have to contact the previous owner .. or use a password recovery tool and hope it works for you .. if all else fails, you'll need to reformat and set up the admin password to your liking ..

if there is a lock-out enforcement you may be in trouble and it could take some time .. (ie - 3 trys, 30m lock out, 3 trys, 30m lock out, etc... or worst case 3 trys, system locked until admin unlocks it)
