Hhhmm, Always see PC people saying Ubuntu/Linux ...?
I wonder why we never see ANYONE telling a Mac user set of people to convert to Linux or Ubuntu, or Lindows. Basically the processor series and sub-set in a Mac is a 68000-series based chipset, which was the same as the original mainframes and Sun microsystems ran with.
Wouldn't it make more sense for the limited hardware Macs to use an OS like Lindows or ubuntu?.
Has it been tried ? - even as possible for dual-booting a Mac?.
Good Luck!.
1st Add : I'm a solid PC user for over 20 years, and am not a Mac owner in any sense of the term, but My main question is that the older macs used to use a Motorola 68000 chipset, which was there main draw for video / CAD / TV Professional users. It just seemed a better "launchpad / Target set" for a hardcore OS with a guaranteed limited series of hardware choices. So Why didn't they (before the Intel switch to get more market for Mac)?.
Exactly my point Jessica and Legend.
But I'never actually heard of a mainstream marketed Linux/Ubuntu Mac. Nothing like the hundreds of PCs that come preloaded with either Lindows(now Linspire) or Red Hat linux/Ubuntu.
THANKS!!.

It's easier to tell Windows users, because Windows users are more likely to be dissatisfied.
Yes, many people use Windows because they actually like Windows.
But there's definitely a huge segment of the Windows-using population that is tired of viruses and spyware and think there is no alternative except Mac OS X (which they view as too expensive). So Linux is an easy suggestion there.
Most Mac users are pretty satisfied with Mac. Otherwise they'd certainly have bought a cheaper Windows computer. Plus, Mac has the same security protocol Ubuntu has (sudo) and a fully functional bash terminal (same as any Linux distro). So most of the advantages Linux has over Mac are ideological.

Ubuntu is actually one of Linux distros there are tons of linux out there and please don't confuse some people out there.
Are you saying about modern macs have mainframes hardware in a user system? Uh I though you should know this that Mac is actually running on Core 2 Duos. And Intel Chipsets.
The mac OS is actually a UNIX OS which where linux OS originated from but it was heavily tweak, and since mac is a close platform there is a chance for you to boot linux from a mac machine but you need to have some knowledge on that. Just google it if you want to.

you can dual boot windows xp and osx from the same hdd on the intel based macs, I found a site about a week ago with heaps of guides and tutorials when I was digging for info on how to put osx on a ps3.... and if you can dualboot winXP and osx I don't see why you can't dualboot linux/osx..
One problem: I haven't been able to find the site since.. Sorry.. Maybe try google ??
