Can anyone tell me about "user profiles"?
"User profile service failed the load"
"User profile not avaliable - you have been assigned a temporary profile for now"
i have received both these error messages; can anyone tell me why this is happening and what i can do to fix it?
note: windows vista os, put on the laptop from new, bought/installed last Feb, problems started a month or 2 ago

Press F8 before Windows starts to enter the Advanced Startup options. Select Repair your Computer and do a system restore, this should fix your problem.

Check to see if you have some free space on your hard drive. I have seen this error many times when the hard drive is full.
You can check it by going to My Computer, Right Click 'Local Disk (C:)' and go to properties. You will get a pie chart with available space. If its completely Blue, free some space up :)
