No DVD drive on my PC!?
The tablet we got came with nifty extra software. But it is on a DVD, and I have no DVD drive.
Technical support suggested I get a 6 GB thumb drive, find a computer with a DVD drive, download it to the thumb drive and then upload it to my home computer. He said I could use a 2 GB drive and transfer in chunks. Wonderful.
I was wondering if there was a safe website, that didn't involve any software installation, where I could upload the files from a distant computer and download it at home.
I'll probably get a DVD drive, but after some shopping around. And the kid wants to play with the software ASAP.

There are several online sites that host files, but most cost money for files of the size you are suggesting and upload and download times are painful for that amount of data.
If I was you I'd spend the money for a hardware solution that will be of use to you long after this project is finished.
If you don't often use dvd for anything else the usb thumb drive is very economical, and has many uses besides this one time project. I'm sure you know someone who would loan you the use of their computer to copy the dvd to the thumbdrive.
The 1st link is an 8gb for under $20.
If you do used dvd a lot, whether movies or data, you can get a nice external dvd writer. It'll run more than twice as much as the thumb drive. The 2nd link is one for $55.

on a computer with a DVD drive, you can use a program to make an .iso file. Then use a program like Daemon tools to open the iso file, which would be the exact same as having the DVD in a dvd drive.
