a friend' truck, it will not start. ?
on a 1988 ford bronco II what would cause the injectors to fail to work at all. he has replaced a failed fuel pump. a ignition module and the plugs and wires, which i under stand are not directly related to the current issue. i believe that the cpu has failed, so it can no longer opperate the injectors do you have any other ideas. btw, he said that the cec was on but it is no longer.
the engine does crank over at a high enough rpm, so it does not sound like a battery issue to me.
as i mentioned before the engine will crank over at a normal rpm if not higher, so that negates the neutral safety switch and the battery issue. i do not have access to a second computer for the car and the owner is currently short cash because he just bought the car and did the listed repairs. i will suggest the computer and see where he wants to go. i do believe that is the problem, i just wanted a second opinion. i have to assume that the fuel rail is getting pressure, there is not a test port on this fuel rail, and i know that the pump is working i can hear that

I believe you believe correctly mdk68gto. A faulty cpu may not send the correct signal needed and thus causing the injectors to appear inoperable. If possible you can try swapping a cpu of another vehicle to see if that solves the problem.

Is it getting fuel to the injectors? Fuel regulator? Does it have a plugged fuel filter? fuel pump relay working? Does it have a test port wire to energize fuel pump without starting the engine.
Let me know what you find?
You may need to purge the air out the system same thing happened to my wifes 93 pontiac sunbird.
or it could be a plugged fuel line.
The computer I would think would give an engine light unless it is completely dead.

CPU as in ECU?
Does the engine come on? If it comes on but no sound from engine, or lights/clock/radio etc while turning the ignition, it probably needs the alternator, dead battery/low electrolyte, cell connector corrosion/frayed wires/broken cable, cracked case or cell cover and not to likely but maybe a battery overfilling, if its been replaced.
