So, why did God create the mosquito?
What purpose does it serve? Mosquitos are believed to kill thousands of people each year. So, were mosquitos created to kill people, spread diseases?

Food for other animals, control of populations, to deflate the ego of some proud people, like any suffering do we give up or run away, do we work at avoiding of fixing the problem...????.. could be any or more reasons.
This small insect can stop armies and lay even the proudest men low or almost drive them mad.

God didn't create the mosquito, it evolved. And the question is asked from a human-centric position. The human is no more important in the vast scheme of things than is the mosquito. Humans might well wreck earth's environment causing all 'higher' life forms to become extinct, but the humble mosquito might survive, and evolve over hundreds of millions of years into a more intelligent species than humanity. Got to look at things from different perspectives to have a clue what's going on in this crazy world.

There are many millions of species on planet Earth, that god created. And we reincarnate into each one of them until finally reaching the top of the food chain,on this planet.Until as humans,we can consciosly think about god.
But whether you believe in god or not,or don't believe in reincarnation at all,the 'scientific' explanation to your question is:
Every life form on this planet was created to balance it out.'Circle of Life' is a better way to say it.
Lets say that rats dissapeared, then snakes would starve and die and many other species would die.Mosquitos and bugs would overpopulate because they can't be eaten.
Similarly if mosquitos dissapeared, there would be a HUGE imbalance in nature.Humans would overpopulate, and many other species would as well.

Well, God created every thing for purpose. Mosquito is such a small thing but it can kill too right?
To me, God want to tell and teach us that dont be arogant even such a small thing can kill you then whats the purpose of being arrogant and illogical.
There are many other reasons too.
God created men and Jins for His worship. We are in a state of test. May God help us to pass test otherwise it might be very difficult.
Better to safe then sorry.

Survival of the fittest! Every living organism has RIGHT TO LIVE, RIGHT TO FOOD etc. Human beings have no right to kill innumerable number of mosquitoes and other living organisms which are found to be harmful to them. Natural biological activity of living organisms result in such anomalies.

God created all living beings according the the unlimited kinds of consciousness one could have. (the mixes of the 3 modes of material natre , goodness, passion and ignorance). So in a sense we created it due to our consciousness. People are killing innumerable living entities every day. They slaughter innocent animal and kil every day in their activities. So then man has to get his karma (what goes around comes around)- and the tiny misquote does the job. Killing millions of humans for the killing they do. One must give up meat eating and practice not killing unnecessarily to clear ones consciousness and karmic reaction. for that. We can not escape our karma. Only one who fully surrenders to God will have their karma reduced and ultimately nullified. Chanting the holy names of God is the process to end all suffering. See my profile page for link to how to chant the names of God.

Perhaps they are a mutation of something that was once good. The animal world was affected by the 'sin of Adam'.
