Scabs in my Chihuahua's ears?

The scabs are probably from scratching. If the ears are red or smelly it could be a bacterial infection, but with a puppy it could also be ear mites. Give it a day or two and pay attention, is it shaking its head? If all is well in a day or two, it is probably fine, but if scabs get worse or you notice a smell go to doctor for drops.

It could be EAR MITES which u can't see with the human eyes Or she can jus have an ear infection thatz causing her to scratch her ear and cause it to bleed which is where the scubs are coming from but EAR MITES have the same effect There really tiny bugs. Smell inside her ear if it has a sweet smell to it or a smell that doesnt seem normal then she probably has an ear infection. Either way they have over the counter meds for both

it could be an ingrown hair but if that was the case she would probably shake her head alot and maybe scratch at her ears

it could also be the residue of ear mites which can be cleared up with some drops from the vet or you can make them yourself (use a Q-tip and dip it in a solution of 50% water & 50% vinegar and rub it on the affected areas)...usually earmites are black

your best bet would be take her to the vet and they could probably tell just by looking because without a picture its hard to know what else it could be...but good luck im sure its nothing serious!

It might be her scratching constantly .. Have you had her checked for fleas or some kind of ear mites?

Or any other dog around being playful? Scabs can happen very easily when playing with another dog.

She most likely has been itching them. Which could be a sign of an infection, or ear mites. Both are very treatable. But you need to see a vet to be sure! Good luck!

She's probably scratching her ears because of either an ear infection or mites. Talk to your vet.

Sounds like ear mites. Get her to the vet to get treated and meds.
