Most guys I've known who do this, alot of them are exe's; they've said that they want a "good girl-takes care of him and the children" at home and for the public, but they want a "slut-type," in the bedroom.
Love for one, wanton lust for the other.
It's not right at all, but a LOT of men can do this. Heaven forbid their women do it to them though.

Um, I am very happily married and I just get them on the side to fulfill sexual fantasies that my wife won't do. Like 3 somes , butt, toys bondage and such.
If we could CREATE a wife then we wouldn't need to cheat.
