I rented Bridge to Terabithia last night and wasn't prepared the sadness.....?
I've been going through a depression, so I was sobbing uncontrollably (don't worry, I'm getting help for my depression), so bad my husband had to turn the movie off. We got to the part where the parent and son go to the neighbors to give their condolences and the son sees his teacher and say they should invite the girl next time. What happened next? What was the ending like? I can read about it, I just can't watch it.

The boy builds a bridge across the creek to prevent any future disasters and shows his younger sister Terabithia. They then become the king and queen of Terabithia. The end. I really enjoyed it but it was really sad.

New girl Leslie meets poor boy Jesse.
They become friends and create an imaginary kingdom in the woods called Terabithia.
One day Jesse leaves Leslie to go on a trip to the city without asking her to come along.
She goes to Terabithia by herself and drowns in a creek. He blames himself for it.
He eventually comes to terms with Leslie’s death; and creates a bridge over the creek to Terabithia, so no one will fall in the creek again.
He then shares the magical kingdom with his younger sister.

I haven't seen it and I can't help you with this, but I can warn you not to watch Pan's Labyrinth. It's brutal, bloody, and full of carnage and torture. Despite the fairy tale theme of it, it is not for children at all or for anyone that does not have the taste for such things.
