How can I convert my chemical clorine pool to saltwater.?

What steps are needed to make the transition as quick and smooth as possible. I have a larger above-ground pool. We have had alot of rain so I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. Any experiences with this change would be greatly appreciated.

更新:

Did the clorinated water have to be drained first or was the salt added to the existing water?

You need to buy one of the salt chlorinator systems in order to really make the transition.

However, my dad just decided he wanted a saltwater pool a while ago, but didn't feel like buying a special system. He bought 80 lbs of salt and dumped it into the pool, and says that a) the water feels great on the skin and eyes, and b) no algae has grown in the water since he dumped it in.

So if you want to give it a shot, dump some pool salt in there and see if you like the way the water feels. It's not going to hurt your pump to increase the salinity of the water a little bit.

its as easy as just buying a salt water system such as a hayward swimpure, aquarite, resilience, or aquapilot and installing that. then it takes a couple hundred pounds which will be specified in the owners manual of the system. I think the aquarite takes about 300 pounds for a 15,000 gallon pool. After that, the system will create chlorine for you and you only need to add liquid chlorine if you get algae. you want to try and maintain around a 3000 ppm level of salt.

Very easy. First drain the pool to remove the chlorine water. Then pour a lot of table salt into the pool, add water under pressure and hurray, you have your salted pool.
