Makeshift cap?

okay, I have a bottle of jameson's whiskey but the cap seemed to get stripped when I was trying to put it back on. The bottle is nearly full but I think my brother or someone has been sneaking drinks from it so I want to put it away somewhere without it spilling.

Is there any makeshift cap I can use? Will storing it in empty water bottles or like an old cranberry juice container ruin the flavor or anything? Already tipped it over once, so..

Nah, put it in a water bottle, it will be fine (I would pass on anything that had fruit juice or soda in it at any point in time).

I would put it in a canning jar, since you could get a good seal with that lid, and there is no chance that the glass would have any residual flavors/odors from whatever was last in it.

Maybe put an O-ring in the cap.

the water bottles should work, they shouldnt effect the flavor too musc...just wash them out really good if there was something in there other than water

I was a bartender and we would use wine corks if we ever lost the liquor caps.
