Motor test:

first of all. Please confirm the motor coil numbering.

e.g.

1a. 3-phase start-delta motor, included the 3 independent coil

1b. 3-phase motor, fixed star or delta connection inside the motor; only 3 points terminate.

2. 1 Phase motor. almost 2 nos. independent coil, 1 for runnning, another for starting with in serial capacitor for increase the phase angle for start the motor since steady situation.

Motor: megger test (insulation test), mean for checking the insulation for motor's coil insulation against the motor metallic casing. Therefore, nos. of test for winding is subject to the coil number.

e.g.

3-phase 3's coil star-delta; 1st - U1/U2 Vs E; 2nd -V1/V2 Vs E; 3rd -W1/W2 Vs E

3-phase fixed connection; only 1 times any U/V/W Vs E

If 2 coils inside the motor; 1 st - first coil against E, 2nd coil against E again...

----part winding motor.....testing 1 or 2.. multi.. is subject to number of coil..

Don't forget to measure the winding resistance. if 3 phase motor, the resistance of hom is nearly to same.
