ok well it started out on a day where i need to use 4wd, i switched it 4wd and i put it in drive and it didn't move. so my dad took it to a guy to figure out whats the problem and he got the truck to work completely normal but 4wd never worked again and the guy said it might need a new 4wd shift motor. so it drives completely fine until me and my buddy dicked around trying to get the 4wd to work again. so we noticed the mechanic disconnected the 4wd shift motor wire under the truck where the transfer case is and we hooked it back up. drived it and switched to 4wd and it worked but it felt like it was in 4low and it would not shift unless you let off the gas and sometimes it will drop into 2nd but will never go a higher gear. so we put it back in 2wd and were sure its out of 4wd but like again it feels like where in a low gear and it will not shift into 2nd unless you let off the throttle. when your in 2nd and you floor it it'll go for a while and it'll drop back to 1st. it'll stay in 2nd just fine if you put the shifter in 2. every time you turned the switch i don't fell the clunk like it did before a long time ago where it worked just fine. we tried disconnecting the wire but no luck. im thinking it might be the shift motor thing or the computer. need help please!

i got a 93 pickup 5speed 4x4. i bought the truck non running, put a fuel pump and fuel filter in and it fired right up and i took it for a test drive. parked it and tried to fire i back up it ran for 3 seconds and sputters and stalls, some time if you get lucky and you keep cranking it and it'll run just fine but as of now im not getting any luck. it'll just sputter and stall. if i start it and quickly go to the to the afm and hold it open it will run but will stall if i rev it. if i bypass the the fuel pump it will run just fine. the fuel pump will not prime or run when i turn the key on. i may think it may be a fuel pump relay but people say if the pump turns on when you bypass, the relay is fine so i don't know. the other 2 is either the afm is bad or the computer. i tried to test the afm and its seems "good" but i don't trust myself. help me please!!!!

i got an old 93 toyota pickup with a 22re 5speed. i always thought of being able to shift on the fly instead of pulling off to the road and engaging the hubs and throwing it into 4hi. in situations where i most likely use 4wd could i just set my hubs on lock and when i need it could i jam it into 4hi on the fly??? would like to know if its possible before i accidentally grind some gears and fuc* up the transfer case.

alright well i just recently bought a 93 toyota pickup with a 22re motor for 400 bucks. i was trying to diagnose the problem why it wouldn't start but no luck so far. it runs on starting fluid through the throttle body so that makes me think that it must be a fuel issue. so the first thing i checked was the fuel pump, i sticked a funnel down the fill and i can hear the pump with the key on. so i remove one of the fuel line in the engine bay and i got pretty good pressure from the pump, seems enough to start the motor. which concerns me that there something else along the line that may be in issue. i haven't checked the plugs if its wet or not but im sure fuel is not getting to the injectors or the injectors aren't firing. i don't feel like going to the truck and start tearing things apart and replacing things i don't need because its very cold outside and i have a pretty small budget. so if anyone could help me out on this issue please due so. and id like to know how sure can i be if that part is the issue and if i were to check the injector to see if its firing could i hook up a multimeter and have someone crank the motor? if so how much voltage would i get? any fuse or relay i should look for? i check all the fuses but i don't have the covers to the fuse box so i don't know which relay is which so if your were to identify to check one it would be nice to have a link of a diagram or at least specifically explain. thanks everyone, im a 16 year old with dad tring to get my first project truck on the road here. appreciate those helpers!

i have a 93 toyota pickup 4x4 i just bought for 400 bucks non running and i assumed it was the fuel pump because it ran on starting fluid. i checked the fuse and everything is good so i lifted the bed off and removed the pump. i hard wired it with jumper cables and i could hear it run and i put it back in the tank and it does pump gas out with it hard wired. i tested the power from the connecters and i do get 12v then i rewired everything back up turned the key and i heard the pump then cranked it she fired up then died 2 sec later. i looked to check if the pump is still running but its not. need help not sure what to do.

I'm thinking in running a gas line from my furnace to my garage( about 10ft reach) so i can run my propane heater that i use in the 3 car garage and run my parents 2 burner cook top(they cook in the garage to keep smell out of the house). Looking to do this to stop the hassle of filling the bbq tanks every week. i was looking to ask if im able to do this and if so any tips in doing this? could i run one off those yellow gas lines through out the way instead of using steel tubing? need some help from a experience person, never really worked on gas but do have experience in automotive and plumbing.

i was wondering if i can use a rear brake master cylinder for a hydraulic clutch. im building a gokart with a yamaha fzx750 motor and im wanting to use the original left foot hydraulic brake for the clutch and just hook up the lines from the hand clutch master cylinder directly to the master cylinder on the gokart(the master cylinder is like a rear brake master cylinder on a dirt bike).

well family is wanting to go tubbing for the first time but im not sure if the old boat would push fast enough. i have a 79 15' tri haul bomber with a 79 mercury 40hp. i think at one time i toped out about 25mph which i think is kinda slow. but i never done it before so i have no experience. will the old boat push enough juice just to have fun?

I used to rent an auger at homedepot that has a 6in bit and it worked great but it was $100 for a daily rental. But I came across one new for $200 and I thought it was a good deal and would be great for future use but it has a 4in bit. I thought it was too small but I wanted to know if it would work for a 4x4 post. If it is to small you think I can ride the bit against the walls to make the hole bigger to the same diameter of a 6in? Thanks

Well i have a 03 honda pilot and it currently have 245/75/16 tires on it. it use to have 235/70/16. i have bought my full spare tire before and it still has the 235/70/16. if i need to use it will it damage the awd system on the drivetrain? i know one tire will spin faster than the other and the ratios would be different

OK well i own a 03 honda pilot..... im looking to get newer tires like all terrain tires for it. looking to swap out its small a$$ 235/70/16 tires to a 245/70/16 or 245/75/16. i know it will knock off my odometer but ohh well. people say that changing tires to a bit larger will decrease the torque. i do a lot of off road towing to the camp site and i would like to have the bigger tires to get more ground clearance and yes 235 to 245 will give me about and inch to inch and a half, to me thats somewhat is a lot haha. and bigger tires will always make the car look good too! so what should i do?? will 235 to a 245 decrease my torque much? should i keep the same size or get the bigger tires? if i get the tires should i go for a 70 or 75? and what tires should i go for? I'm looking at BF goodrich A/T but is there any other good meaty tires i can look into? looking to keep it in the $160 per tire range and looking for some good meaty that isn't to noisy and also gives a good smooth ride.

Don't get me wrong here there beautiful cars but now some if there modern engineering if full of junk and there really expensive. Mom is telling me she wants a 2013 bmw x5, I keep telling her there full of crap and its going to cost you a lot of money. If u know scottykilmer on youtube he talked about there plastic electric water pump and luxury car parts can be very expensive and hard to fine at the auto parts store. I told her all of that and she still didn't give a crap. Mom is seriously pissing me of lately and she is one of those "woman" that like to spend. Right now when it comes to maintenance on her car its me and dad trying to do all the repairs to save money. Im trying to get her to look into honda or like the new ford escape ecoboost that is such a gas saver compared to the pos bmw suv that uses just as much as a modern v8 truck, no its actually even more! Because it uses premium gas! Now shes telling me she works hard enough to get what ever she wants and I shouldn't be telling her what to do. well shes sort of wrong, she makes my dad pay for most of the stuff and better yet she would probably let my dad help her pay for the bmw and gas. My dad is a money saver and were not rich, but when it comes to mom choices he can't really say anything or ill be arguments and problems. He trys to keep away from that and he even made his own secret bank account for "emergency" money in case we need it but mom is just using the money off her pay check and just spending it all the time and don't know what saving is. I already told her if she gets that bmw I ain't doing don't work on it and she can take it to the dealership to get it done. Heck I might might not even wanting to fix the tire if it was flat too. Ok well at the beginning of the summer I turned on my ac and noticed my fan outside isn't spinning. So I jammed it with a screw driver and turn the unit back on and it worked. So I guess it was seized over the winter. So latter in a few months I noticed the fan wasn't spinning again and so I jammed it with a screw driver and it was free and I turned it on and it didn't work. But then I turned on the ac and left it on and went outside to give the fan a little push and it started up and started to spin. But every time the ac turned off I had to go outside every time to get the fan to run to turn it back on. Is the fan getting weak or could it be the capacitor being week?

well i just got a trailer and its a 5x10(got it for $40). lts going to need some new tires and im not looking to spend a lot of money on them. there like almost 100 bucks at tsc but my buddy works at a tire shop so he can hook me up about 20 bucks a tire. i heard people say trailer tires are more stronger and had stronger side walls to hold loads but looks like car tires and trailer tires seems to have similar weight rating. any how i don't think i would haul anything that heavy. maybe two 4 wheelers piggy backing is about 1000 pounds so im not worried. but what im worried is will car tires create excessive trailer sway?

Well I got a 2012 f150 and stock speakers sounds like crap. Im thinking of building A small box running dual 10"s under the back seat. Im not to sure in feeling to pull the whole cluster and cover to find a signal wire but I don't think stock head units have a output for an amp. I want to keep the stock head but I was wondering if I can hook up a signal wire from the two rear speakers as a signal input wire. Like I was thinking in splicing both sides as in one for left and right input so I can still get stereo. Can do this and will it sound just as good if I were to find a proper output wire for and amp from the head?

OK heres the problem. the quad smokes a lot when its cold but when it warms up it stops. then when u give here some gas she smokes. doesn't smoke at idle until u giver a lot of juice valve seals or rings?

I had some serious smoking problems on my cr125 2 stroke. I found out it was the crank seals because there was a lot of tranny oil sitting in the head. My buddy told me if your crank seal goes bad there might be a chance of a bad main bearing. I took the stator cover off and check for play and its tight. I also took the head off and turned it over to see if its rough, but it was smooth like butter. Is there any other way I can diagnose if I do have a bad main bearing?

I have a 02 cr125. Its spooges out a lot of oil out of the pipe and gets all over the swing arm. Been like that since I got the bike and thought it was running to rich. So I took it out riding for the first time and foul out 5 plugs. Then the last plug of the 5 it smoke like heck and it was white and fogged up the whole trail. I thought I blow a head gasket but I replaced it before I ride and I only had like less than 2 hours of run on it. But I was riding the piss outta the bike pretty good tho and did a lot of power shifting. Was thinking the white smoke is the head gasket or a cracked cylinder and im not to sure what the excessive oil coming out of the pipe is. But I remember I had 1/4 quart oil sitting in the pipe when I removed it. Bike running To rich and needs rejet? Or bad crank seal?? Need some help on how to find what the problem is.
