2 個解答Other - Diseases9 年前More War is Eminent with Obama?
In a talk to the Atlantic Council this week CIA Director Gen. Michael Hayden said Osama bin Laden is alive. I'll take his word for it. But bin Laden's strange disappearance makes one wonder what exactly happened to him. The last relatively reliable bin Laden sighting was in late 2001. A video that he appears in last year shows him with a dyed beard. More than a few Pakistani intelligence operatives who knew bin Laden scoff at the idea he would ever dye his beard. They think the tape was manipulated from old footage, and that bin Laden is in fact dead. But then again, they would have an interest in making us believe bin Laden is dead, since it would relieve American pressure to find him by any means necessary, including going into Pakistani territory.
8 個解答Politics1 十年前Alinsky and Obama Election Tied?
"Rules for Radicals" begins with an unusual tribute: "From all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins – or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom – Lucifer."
The devil challenged authority and got his own kingdom, and that goes to the heart of what left is really about. That of course is to get power any way you can, including lying, cheating and stealing. The ultimate rule is that the ends justify the means.
Alinsky asserted that he was more concerned with the acquisition of power than anything else: "My aim here is to suggest how to organize for power: how to get it and how to use it." This is not to be done with assistance to the poor, nor even by organizing the poor to demand assistance: "[E]ven if all the low-income parts of our population were organized ... it would not be powerful enough to get significant, basic, needed changes."
Alinsky advises his followers that the poor have no power and that the real target is the middle class: "Organization for action will now and in the decade ahead center upon America's white middle class. That is where the power is. ... Our rebels have contemptuously rejected the values and the way of life of the middle class. They have stigmatized it as materialistic, decadent, bourgeois, degenerate, imperialistic, war-mongering, brutalized and corrupt. They are right; but we must begin from where we are if we are to build power for change, and the power and the people are in the middle class majority."
2 個解答Politics1 十年前Religious Discussion Required...10 Pts Best Answer....?
Why do you believe that it is so imperative that we debate what it is that we believe? Why do you feel that Christians cannot be just like everyone but with a solid foundation of faith. Equally why atheists or agnostics cannot be great people with an equally founded belief of behavioral right and wrong. Why must it be in your opinion that one is better than the other when it has been said that even in death the non-believers will Jesus and have one final opportunity to believe.
F.Y.I. This discussion is going to group home discussion so be frank, honest and clear. BTW this is not about my beliefs. No attacks on me please.

2 個解答Safety1 十年前Why do you think people get stuck in the pain?
I recently posted another question. One person answered saying there is no way that I could "feel or understand how he/she felt." And then of course called me clueless.
I believe we all "feel" very much the "same" things but in different experience levels. I believe this because I have lived the life that this person spoke of. I have felt the very same things he/she felt. I have just moved/grown/forgave past that point in my life. Add to that my doctorate of life and you have one powerful understanding of human behavior.
I know the clinical reason, but I want your response.
So my question is: Why do some people who have been through extreme trauma come out unscathed, while others choose to remain in the pit of despair? Do they refuse help? Do they want to feel that way? Does pain give people power and that's why they hold on to it? You tell me. I just want a discussion from the people I see post on this site. I'd like to know what you truly think...
6 個解答Psychology1 十年前Male vs Female? Why do some find it necessary to....?
Why do some people find it necessary to state absolutions rather than explain "their" situation for closure? Why are most parts began with, "All men do this?" or "All women do that?" Do people really not understand that there are no absolutes? That as humans we all feel the very same things? Maybe not at the same, or when we need each other to feel them, but those feeling do occur for both sexes. Why then does it seem that young-"er" people don't seem to recognize that? Is this an education issue? Do we need to teach more empathy is schools? How can we become more educated about the possibility that each of us in unique despite our gender? I’m genuinely curious what you think. Oh and no snide comments please. Serious reply only.
