Multiple Apple devices, multiple Apple Id, 1 PC ?
Experienced IT / Apple device people please
We are a family of 6, with a least 3 devices (iphones, ipods, ipads) each. With a huge music library (70 Gb) as well as individual music bought via itunes etc.
Each user has their own Apple Id. (Not worried about the icloud IDs)
This is getting silly and I don't want to manage a TB - 70GB x 6 x 2 (original music plus itunes libraries)
I would create a login for each user with a shared library but Apple in their wisdom has limited any one Apple Id to 10 devices which can't be changed less than every 90 days.
I have a old but function desktop I'd like to install the whole thing onto.
The only way I can see to do it is to install 6 copies of Windows (probably 2000 to save activation issues) as multiple boot (yes I know how to do it) to avoid Apple thinking it's the same PC and having a shared library on an extended partition
Does anyone have any better solutions / experience facing similar problems ?
Thanks in advance

I know it would take some engineering and we would have to keep an elected head of state. But instead of congress / parliament etc. Why not have an referendum on the issues and have a "real" democracy. After all most of the technical hurdles have already been overcome

Have a place in Spain where about a third of the shops are Chinese bazaars.
So something you can get there. But the prices seem to have rocketed. What about where you are ?
1 個解答Other - Local Businesses8 年前Do you think teacher Victoria (school shooting in Connecticut) should be awarded a medal ?
I do.
She died a hero yesterday. She hid her first graders in the cabinets and closets after hearing the gunfire. When the shooter came to her classroom, she told him that her students were in the gym. He then gunned her down and moved on. She saved the lives of all of her students.
I believe that she deserves to be remembered for her bravery.
What do you think ?

3 個解答Marriage & Divorce9 年前Have you kept secrets from your kids to protect them, even though it ruins your relationship with them ?
After going through a divorce I didn't let the kids (8 & 12) know that I left because my ex-wife cheated on me. consequently she has basically made me out to be the bad guy for leaving etc. Even though I saw them as often as allowed and paid more than was due etc.
So have you had a similar situation, to protect the kids ?
2 個解答Marriage & Divorce9 年前Do you think people should be found "guilty" of breaking a marriage ?
From what I can see. There's nearly always a person who breaks up marriage and the other who is a "victim". But legally in most places the courts don't care So isn't just that the "guilty party" has less rights etc ?
1 個解答Marriage & Divorce9 年前Which party do the average Americans blame for the current economic situation?
I'm just curious. In the UK there are sharp divides between Labour who was in power and the coalition who are now in power. But I don't ever see the same arguments in the US, eve though it sounds worse there ?

I have 6 kids. We can only get a 2MB connection where we are and are lucky to get that. I have 2 D-Link DIR-615s running wirelessly for multiple PCs.
What with my kids downloading their favorite programs, using utorrent (which I'd like to stop)and also having them using Skype to their bf/gfs there are constant arguments about who is using the bandwidth.
There seem to be zillions of packet sniffers and traffic monitors etc. But none seem to do what I want. I have searched the net for hours and downloaded and run several programs that might do the trick, but actually don't. Before you ask, I have tried CNet, File Hippo and many, many others.
All I want is a screen which shows devices and bandwidth usage. Real time & history would be nice as would ability to allocate names to devices from the windows PC name, but not essential.
Any ideas, the kids are driving my wife & I crazy over this ?

I mainly use Firefox on limited bandwidth. I've tried no script but it's impossible and every site has to be accepted. I've tried adding to the host file. But that doesn't work. I've tried these on XP, Vista and 7. Does anyone really know how to avoid the wait. - Sometimes it can take over half a min to load a page, just so they can count my visit !

2 個解答Laptops & Notebooks9 年前Why are "illegal"drugs illegal ?
Please don't say it's against the law etc. I was answering a question "When was the last time you've heard of someone who didn't smoke pot but supported legalization?"
I replied :-
Me, I do
The reason. It's quite simple. If a small minority of people want to self destruct (weed being the gateway to harder drugs) then why should we stop them ?
I have 6 kids and would try very very hard to dissuade them of course.
It costs a huge amount to police such laws which are in essence the same as the prohibition .
Also in most Western countries the vast amount of crimes people really care about such as burglary, muggings etc are caused by junkies looking for a fix.
It would also reduce the income stream for the criminal cartels
So for the majority of non pot smokers I would say it would be a very good thing.
But it made me wonder why these drugs and not booze etc
