Collarbone lump?
About 6 months ago I noticed a lymph node in my collarbone region on my left side - I was drying my hair and saw it - as soon as i touched it, it disappeared behind my collarbone. It seems to escape that area when I move my arm up and down, otherwise it lives behind my left collarbone (around the middle). If I push my shoulders forward to push my collarbones out, and place my fingers into that hollow, I can feel it. My main worry is reading about the Virchow lymph node, and it being lymphoma (I am 22 so worry I m at the age for it), however it hasn t changed in 6 months, and it is VERY freely moving (if I touch it when it s behind my collarbone in that hollow, it will travel up, over the front of the collarbone, and then if I move my finger, it will go back to that position). The only thing I have read that sounds similar is this post:
https://au.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20...
From her description, it seems hers also lived behind the collarbone and when pressed travelled up, over it, and then back down when the hand is moved. It seems like she s still posting 4 years later and is fine, but can t contact her to ask about it lol so does anyone think it sounds like lymphoma? As I did read lymphoma could also be soft (and in this region), but I don t know if it would move about so freely?

1 個解答Mental Health2 年前Is occassional flirting normal in a long-term relationship?
So I've been with a guy for over 4 years, since I was 18, and I guess I missed that part of my life that others got - going out, flirting with guys, meeting lots of people etc. I am deeply in love with my boyfriend and he makes me so so happy, but for some reason, (maybe due to lack of self-esteem and confidence possibly), when I'm out, I don't really shut down opportunities to flirt, and sometimes I may even encourage it by wearing nice clothes? Idk.
Anyway, I've been reading a few threads about this, and I'm wondering what your opinion is on flirting in a relationship, especially at my age (22) when being with someone for a while. I feel as though it's normal and something I will grow out of. To me, I don't see harm in getting dressed up to go out, and being complimented on how I look and flirting a bit - obviously there is a line I wouldn't cross - for example, if I'm out and someone is being flirty, at times I may be flirty back, but as soon as they e.g. ask for my number, try dance with me/touch me etc I will let them know I have a boyfriend and either walk away, or we can continue having a respectful conversation both knowing nothing will happen - at my age, I still crave meeting new people and talking, so I don't really see an issue with this.
Anyway, I just want to know what you think about whether or not this is harmless? I always considered it normal, and then an article popped up and now I am a bit confused on whether I should feel guilty or not.
2 個解答Singles & Dating2 年前can shaking head cause migraine auras?
I swear the first time I got one I shook my head up and down (weird OCD thing). That was 2 years ago, and I've had a couple of them since - some worse than others (with numbness etc).
Would the head shaking have caused it or was it potentially head shaking causing a vertebral or cranial artery tear? Or is that seeming a bit too far fetched? I mean it was 2 years ago
1 個解答Pain & Pain Management2 年前can a vertebral artery dissection go undetected for years?
Or is it more of a short term thing (hours/days/weeks) until you definitely know?
I had this weird OCD compulsion to shake my head up and down quite forcefully when I was stressed. Haven't done that for ages, but I remember once when I did it, afterwards I got *what I thought was* a migraine aura - blind spot, then zig zags. I'm pretty sure this was my first aura although I can't remember - do you think it's just a coincidence, as now I'm worried that 'aura' was a stroke from shaking my head and tearing an artery? This was 2 years ago - that same year I had an aura about 4 times (progressively further and further apart - I think I got another one 2 months later, then 4, then 6 etc). Last year I only had one (which was the worst - numbness involved), and that was about 7 months ago, so obviously they are becoming less frequent.
Would this potentially be repercussions of a vertebral artery dissection from shaking my head, or is that very unlikely - if I had caused that, I'm assuming by now I would have been dead or fully recovered and the auras are just unrelated? Do you think it's just normal migraine auras? I feel so paranoid and scared to get another aura now in case it is a stroke, all stemming from that head shaking and potential vertebral dissection!
3 個解答Other - Diseases2 年前Anyone ever had a collar bone lump like this?
It's super hard to describe cos it's quite random, but it's basically identical to this description:
https://www.healthboards.com/boards/lymphomas/9327...
Appears if I bent my arm forward, but if I touch it it kind of slides over my collarbone and disappears. So obviously very mobile and not hard but not 'soft.' The person said their doctor said it was a harmless lymph node which is reassuring, and someone apparently had something similar and had a scan with no issues, but has anyone else ever had this?
1 個解答Other - Diseases2 年前can head shaking from OCD cause permanent brain damage?
So when I was younger (18 or so) I developed a weird OCD compulsion to shake my head up and down fairly aggressively...don't ask, OCD is very unusual. Some days it was worse than others, but a lot of the time I ended up with a headache (presumably due to sore neck muscles). One time I remember the next day, I could barely move my neck and felt so nauseous and out of it, and that freaked me out so I forced myself to stop. I am now 22, and would do it from time to time after I was 18 but very rarely, and now not at all (for the last 2 years at least) My question is, would this have caused any permanent brain damage? Sometimes now I'll feel out of it and a bit weird, but I know it's more likely to be anxiety/tiredness than anything to do with that shaking. One time, I remember I did the shaking, and not long after I got a migraine aura (zig zags etc) - I can't remember if this was my first migraine aura but it may have been, which really scared me that I did some damage, however I think it was more likely to do with neck strain from bobbing my head up and down than any sort of damage. It also scares me now to get migraine auras, because again I worry they are connected to some sort of brain damage from the head shaking...

anyway, do you think I should be worrying about this at all or just let it go as migraine aura/out of it feelings are completely unrelated? After all, the head shaking was years ago...

I ve had 2 freckles on the sole of my foot for as long as I can remember (probably born with them) and they are the same as always, but last year I had a new one appear just above the others. It looks very similar, but is just a bit smaller and looks deeper I guess. Anyway, it s been there for about a year (if not more) with no changes, and i was wondering if it was acral melanoma (which is very aggressive), would it have changed by now? I m obviously prone to these freckles on the sole of the foot so it may be normal for me, I just want to know if I m right in thinking that because it hasn t changed in over a year that it s nothing, as this cancer is aggressive and grows quickly
The new one also appeared after summer - lots of time at the beach/pool, and I guess when you are lying down at the beach the soles of your feet are exposed, so it could just be that?

3 個解答Mental Health2 年前Is seeing flashes like this normal?
Sometimes when I move my head quickly to turn to look at something, I will notice a sparkle of lights appear for literally a split second all over my field of vision. It's like tiny little sparkly dots scattered all throughout my vision that appear for a fraction of a second - when I turn my head quickly I tend to blink at the same time, so I'm not sure if it is triggered by the blinking or the turning of the head. It is not every time I turn my head, but it only happens if I am doing that.
I also only really notice it once I start exercising again (which I have done recently). I just did a workout today, maybe 3 hours ago, and just turned my head and blinked to look at something, and I saw it. It's been happening for years so I doubt it's anything too serious, and if I get it, it'll happen at most 3 times in the day (but then maybe I won't see it for many more days, and if I don't workout at all, I don't ever see it). Could anyone explain what this could be, possibly linked to exercise? Is it neck strain? Or normal eye stuff?
2 個解答Optical2 年前Has anyone with migraine aura had this before?
So I know numbness is an aura symptom and I've gotten that - after the visual flashes etc go away usually the numbness sets in, starting in my fingers and spreading up my arm, up my cheek, tongue, lips etc. But one time, one of my first auras involved the end of the visual symptoms, and to calm down I jumped into bed in an attempt to relax - I don't know if actually jumping played any role, but my left arm, elbow down became numb suddenly - like no gradual experience as usual (overall the experience was gradual because I had the visual symptoms for about 10 min before, rather than everything all at once). I completely freaked out and then maybe 5 min later it started spreading up my face as usual and went away. At this time are the nerves hypersensitive so a normal jump into bed could do this? As I've read sudden numbness could point to a TIA, however it did spread later and visual symptoms happened first, and all the other symptoms I had were normal for an aura.

I'm sure everyone has had goosebump feelings randomly on their arm or leg, but yesterday I was just sitting down and I felt it on my face - it was only on the right side of my face, and started on my right cheek, and spread to my ear, forehead and back of my scalp. It lasted maybe 5 seconds but left my face feeling a little tight on that side, and then about 10 min later it happened again an after that nothing. Is this normal? An anxiety symptom? Or just one of those weird things people get sometimes?
When I say goosebump feeling, it's kind of like that pins and needles feeling when you're cold even though I wasn't cold...
Other - Diseases2 年前Is it normal for nummular (circular) eczema to leave a light patch when treating it?
During the winter my skin became very dry and I developed eczema around my eyes, and a circular patch on my hand developed at the same time. My eye eczema got quite bad but eventually went away with a lot of moisturising, but the hand one stayed - I started treating with steroid cream about 2 weeks ago and all the redness and scaling is gone, but now the circular area where the eczema was is much lighter in colour than the surrounding skin - it's also slightly different texture still because it is not yet healed completely, but I was wondering if it is normal for it to be lighter in colour while healing before returning to normal, and when I should expect it to be back to normal? Even before, when I only used moisturiser it would slightly clear up and remain a lighter colour than the skin around it.
I'm worried it's something like mycosis fungoides (the T cell lymphoma) although that's very rare but also very hard to diagnose as it mimics other common skin conditions, so I am panicking a bit - though the eczema around my eyes appeared at the same time during a very cold winter with a lot of skin dryness so it's more likely it's just eczema...

I ve been freaking out for about 3 weeks now about a lump I felt at the side/back of my neck on the right. However, more and more I m thinking it s a lymph node/muscle/fat sitting on top of my atlas bone, which is why it may be more pronounced. If I move the squishy lump on top (the lymph node/muscle/fat?) I can feel a VERY hard lump underneath, and on the outer side of my neck there is another hard structure (possibly my styloid process?)
I can t feel this on the left side of my neck, so i m assuming the left side just has more fat/muscle in the way? I m naturally pretty thin, so I think it might just be the atlas bone then...can anyone else feel the end of theirs on either side of their neck?! You have to press pretty deep to do it, but I only noticed it because I have some other squishy thing on top (which when pressed directly feels hard due to bone? being beneath it, but when moved around feels squishy)
I think its the 'transverse process' of the atlas that I'm feeling... I just wonder/worry why I never felt it before e.g. maybe the lump thing on top has enlarged if it's a lymph node, making the whole area feel like a bigger bump. Or maybe it was always like that and I never noticed?

3 個解答Mental Health2 年前Is it normal to feel the end of your C2 bone in the spine, or is it a lymph node?
I often get neck tension and went to massage my neck, and noticed a pretty large lump on the right side of my neck. If you go feel the back of your neck right in the centre there is a lump (the C2 vertebra I think), and if I follow that along to either the left or the right, just around where the neck muscle runs down the neck on either side, i feel a lump deep within. I can t feel it as much if my neck is straight, but if I tilt it to the right and push in, it s very hard and doesn t move. I was worried because I couldn t feel the same thing on the left side, but it seems like there is something similar in the same region, although smaller. I have to tilt my head to the left to really feel it properly. Since it s on both sides I feel better - is this just the end of my C2 vertebra or a swollen lymph node on both sides? Does anyone else have this?
